Due to recent flooding and water damage at the Scotiabank Saddledome, the RUSH concert originally scheduled for Wednesday July 24 had to be cancelled.

Rush has been moved by the situation in Alberta and have decided to perform their Clockwork Angels show at the closest location possible on the same date – Wednesday, July 24 in Red Deer, Alberta at the Enmax Centrium – and have ALL PROCEEDS to go Alberta Flood Relief.

Rush will be donating their fee, and paying for all their expenses. Their promoter partner Live Nation will also be donating their time and fees towards this cause. The venue, Enmax Centrium, will be donating goods and services to the event as well. It’s an all –hands-on-deck situation to donate time in order to raise as much money possible for our Alberta friends and fellow Canadians in need.

Lead vocalist and bassist for Rush, Geddy Lee, has made the following statement: “After seeing the devastation from the recent floods, we felt compelled to do what we could. While we had hoped to avoid cancelling the Calgary show, venue safety concerns have closed the venue. Our apologies to all of the fans that bought tickets to the Calgary show for any inconvenience. We’re hoping they – along with the great people of Red Deer – can come to the Enmax Centrium for what has now become a benefit concert. We’d like to thank everyone helping to put on this show for joining us in donating their time & services so we can raise as much money as possible to help those in need.”

Calgary ticket holders will have a chance to access a pre-sale to purchase tickets to the new Red Deer show starting Friday July 12th 10AM, until Sunday July 14 at 10PM (or while quantities last), before tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 15 at 10AM. Presale information will be sent directly to those who had purchased tickets to the Calgary show. All tickets purchased online or via telephone will be automatically refunded starting on July 12th. Tickets purchased in person from a Ticketmaster outlet can be refunded at the original point of purchase outlet, starting July 16th. Tickets purchased in person at the Scotiabank Saddledome Box Office can be refunded at the Box Office, which is now reopened.

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE RED DEER RUSH BENEFIT CONCERT WILL GO TO THE CANADIAN RED CROSS TO SUPPORT THE ALBERTA FLOOD RELIEF.

RUSH Clockwork Angels Tour will visit an additional 15 cities from June to August across North America, following the previously announced spring dates. The second leg will begin in Hershey on June 21st and complete in Kansas City on August 4th.

Entering the charts at #1 in their native Canada and #2 in the U.S., Clockwork Angels has spawned three top 5 hits at Classic Rock radio with "The Wreckers" going to #3, "Caravan" peaking at #2, and "Headlong Flight" topping the chart at #1. Additionally, a fourth single "BU2B" scored top 10 success at the format. Rush’s latest single "The Anarchist" is being serviced to radio outlets now. At the end of 2012, Rush won both the Band of the Year and Album of the Year awards at the Classic Rock Awards in London, UK. This year, to the delight of patient Rush fans worldwide, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame at the momentous ceremony in Los Angeles on April 18th.

Following the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, Rush kick off their Clockwork Angels North American Tour 2013 on April 23rd in Austin, TX and will visit Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Nashville, Raleigh, Virginia Beach, Baltimore, Uncasville, and Atlantic City this spring. After returning from their European dates, a second leg will begin in June which will include stops in Hershey, Wantagh, Saratoga, Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Calgary, Vancouver, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas City, Hamilton, and will finally return to Grand Rapids and Halifax for the first time in decades.

De nuevo ausencia de Rush en España

Esta es la historia que hay detrás de la nueva ausencia de Rush en España durante su proxima gira europea. La prestigiosa web Portal Esquizofrenia, siempre en contacto con grupos de fans de bandas importantes como Rush, ha podido saber que el club de fans oficial en España intentó convencer al 'management' de la banda para hacerla cambiar de opinión tras conocer la nueva exclusión de España en los planes de gira de Rush. En concreto, quien hizo ese contacto fue un habitual lector de dicho portal y conocido por todos, Luis Alberto Luengos, quien se puso en contacto con el agente europeo de Rush, Neil Warnock. Como cuenta Luis, "su respuesta fue tajante": "No hay planes para Rush en España", le contestó de inmediato Warnock. En cuestión de minutos, el grupo de Facebook donde se movilizan los fans de la banda, Rush fans Spain, analizó esta respuesta tan radical del agente de Rush, generando cientos de comentarios. Su nueva ausencia en España, y su postura alejada de los fans generó también un movimiento crítico hacia los canadienses. "Estoy cansado de esta historia. Jamás veremos a Rush en España, ahora lo tengo claro", nos confiesa Luengos, quien contactó con el agente del power trío. También nos confiesa su experiencia personal: "Yo les vi el año pasado en Londres y me quité esa espinita que tenía de hace tantos años. Esta vez, me da mucha pereza viajar para verles (...). Esperaba verles si hubieran venido, pero si no, supone un fuerte desembolso, y demasiada antelación de acontecimientos". Pero hay más. Según cuenta Luengos, la creadora del grupo de fans de Rush en España charló con Geddy Lee de Rush en una gira, quien le dijo personalmente que sí tocarían en España, pero al parecer, sin especificar cuándo, y en ningún caso, en esta gira de 'Clockwork Angels'. Pasado el tiempo, esa frase ha quedado como la habitual pronunciada a los fans que se arriman para hacerse una foto con las estrellas. La "promesa, por ahora, queda incumplida", nos relatan. La decepción es total en el colectivo de fans de Rush: "Poca humildad por parte del grupo, nada de compromiso y una decepción total". Es el sentir generalizado una vez conocida su nueva ausencia por nuestros lares. Por otra parte, os contamos que ya se ha confirmado que la gira internacional de Rush se amplía para los países nórdicos. Por otra parte, Rush volverán a participar en festivales y anuncian su participación en el prestigioso Sweden Rock de 2013. La gira que ha quedado cerrada Rush acaban de terminar una gira planetaria que ha durado casi 2 años y ya han anunciando nuevas fechas para otro tour mundial, esta vez con motivo de la presentación de su nuevo disco 'Clockwork Angels', el cual se publico el 12 de junio pasado. Eso sí, no estarán en la carretera hasta el otoño, y ya en Europa, en la primavera de 2013. Éstas son las fechas europeas por ahora anunciadas en su web oficial, que sólo cubren Alemania, Inglaterra y Escocia: Rush Clockwork Angels 2013 European Tour: el 22 de mayo en el Arena de Manchester, el 24 de mayo en el 02 Arena de Londres, el 20 de mayo el el LG Arena de Birmingham, el 28 de mayo en el Motorpoint de Sheffield, el 30 de mayo en Glasgow, el 4 de junio en Colonia, el 6 de junio en Berlin, el 8 de junio en Solvesborg en Suecia dentro de Sweden Rock festival y el 10 de junio en Helsinki.
